The loggerhead sea turtle is the heart and soul of Turtlefied—and today we're sharing why these incredible creatures matter so much.

Here's what makes loggerheads special:

🔹 They're named for their large heads, which support powerful jaw muscles for crushing prey
🔹 Georgia's coast is one of the most important nesting sites for loggerheads in the entire United States
🔹 Female loggerheads return to the exact beach where they were born to lay their own eggs—sometimes traveling over 8,000 miles!
🔹 A single nest can contain 100-126 eggs
🔹 They're listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act
